Trump Media & Technology Group, the parent company of Truth Social, reported a $238 million loss in the second quarter, as it narrows its focus back to social media after diversifying into cryptocurrency and other areas. Despite the significant loss, the company saw its quarterly revenue jump to $1.7 million, more than doubling the figures from the same period last year.

Newly appointed CEO Kevin McGurn emphasized the company’s strategic decision to prioritize its core social media platform while still pursuing select initiatives. Among these is a planned merger with TAE Technologies, a company specializing in nuclear fusion, indicating ongoing ambitions beyond the digital arena.

In a bid to enhance its offerings, Trump Media has introduced Truth API, a subscription service aimed at financial firms. This service provides early access to posts made by Donald Trump and other notable users of Truth Social, with a monthly fee ranging from $60,000 to $100,000. The service has already attracted 10 clients, primarily high-frequency trading firms, underscoring its appeal within the financial sector.

Financially, Trump Media is positioned with over $400 million in cash and short-term investments at the quarter’s end. Additionally, the company holds approximately $1.2 billion in bitcoin and related assets. However, it also carries roughly $1 billion in debt, tied to convertible notes set to mature in 2028, reflecting a complex financial landscape as it moves forward with its business strategies.
